What could be better than sitting on a private balcony of one of the boutique hotels in Santa Barbara watching the waves roll in with a glass of local wine in hand? This is exactly what I do every time I come to Santa Barbara.
I love Santa Barbara and have been there several times. I particularly enjoy its stunning coastline and spending time strolling and sunbathing on one of its many beaches, but I also love to check out the local wineries (a cold crisp chardonnay is my go-to in the summer months), eat at a few of my favourite cafes, walk Stearns Wharf and do a bit of shopping.
On every visit, I stay in a boutique hotel in Santa Barbara. I just love the personalized service it offers and the cool design of its rooms. I also love to make use of the hotel’s amenities like a swimming pool, hot tub, and luxurious spa service. I am on holiday after all!

The Funk Zone in Lower State

East & West Beach
If you do want to spend all day on the beach, the best area to stay in Santa Barbara is either East Beach or West Beach. You will also be just a stone’s throw from Stearns Wharf if you base yourself here.
The best time to visit Santa Barbara is from March to May or September to November. These shoulder seasons are when the weather is mild and the crowds are generally smaller.
